Privacy Policy — ReceiptStacker
ReceiptStacker ("App", "we", "our", "us") is a receipt and expense management mobile app. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Summary
- ReceiptStacker is designed to be local-first.
- Receipt and budgeting data is stored on your device.
- We do not run an advertising network inside the app.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Data leaves your device only when you explicitly choose actions such as export, share, backup, or restore.
2. Information you provide
You may provide receipt images, receipt details (merchant, date, amount, categories, notes, items), budget/category settings, and optional support emails.
3. How data is stored
ReceiptStacker stores app data locally on your device storage. We do not operate a proprietary cloud database for your receipts.
4. Permissions and why they are used
- Camera: scan paper receipts.
- Photo Library / Media: import receipt images and optional save/share flows.
- Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint): optional local app unlock/authentication.
- Background fetch / boot / wake lock (platform-dependent): optional scheduled backup tasks configured by the user.
5. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell or rent user data. Data may be transferred outside your device only when you initiate it, for example exporting files, sharing via another app, restoring from your chosen source, or optional cloud backup flows you explicitly enable.
6. Tracking, analytics, and advertising
ReceiptStacker is intended to operate without ad tracking SDKs. If this changes in a future release, this policy will be updated before or at release.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because data is stored locally, you control retention by deleting records in-app, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app. Exported/shared copies are controlled by you and the third-party services you choose.
8. Security
We rely on platform protections and best-effort safeguards including OS-level sandboxing, optional biometric lock features, and secure network transport where network features are used. No method is guaranteed 100% secure.
9. Children’s privacy
ReceiptStacker is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-hosted backend.
10. International users
If you export/share data through third-party services, data may be processed in other countries according to those services’ terms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version date appears at the top of this page.
